FOOKE FSW Large

Friction stir welding with high process forces.

Our standardized FOOKE FSW Large series offer machine tools for hybrid machining of large to very large components in aerospace, rail, shipbuilding and many more.

You can weld sheet thicknesses of up to 100 mm with these machines without any problems. Travel speeds of up to 40 m/min prevent unnecessary loss of time during empty runs.

Development of a 5-axis FSW process for joining large aluminium sheets to form an aircraft fuselage. This new FSW application makes it possible to significantly reduce the weight of an aircraft: 1 kg per metre of aircraft. This leads to a noticeable reduction in paraffin consumption and thus contributes to more environmentally friendly aviation.
